Robert Rodriguez has just let slip, via Twitter, that he has cast Charlie Sheen to play the US President in Machete Kills. I guess this makes Charlie the ‘dubya’ of the Sheen family, seeing as his dad, Martin Sheen, played the US President in the well known West Wing series. I guess budgets for exploitation films can only stretch so far…what’s next, Will Smith’s kid Jaden as The Fresh Prince of Atlantis?
Machete Kills finds the ex-federale, played by Danny Trejo, caught in the middle of an epic drug war between the white house and a Mexican drug lord, who threatens the US with nuclear attacks. I personally think it’s a stupid idea, as a drug lord, to nuke your main customer base. But I guess this ‘reality’ has Charlie Sheen for president, so go figure.
